Stack, 2020
Plywood, motor, beer bottle
A stack of breeze blocks is rendered in plywood and assembled as a flatpack. Stack is named after a development in Newcastle City Centre made from Shipping containers, Stack is a temporary structure erected on land once occupied by artist studios among other things. The site is set to expand and knock down other buildings that house more arts organisations, eventually becoming a PERMANENT shopping centre. The bottle sits ontop of the stack and CONTINUOUSLY rolls without moving anywhere, never moving forward. There is a wider need to construct in order to generate labour, without the need for more buildings.
